Essential Oil Wax Sachets

This is a fun way to display your pressed flowers and create something beautiful and aromatic.

They also make great housewarming and teacher gifts. Who wouldn't love to have a lavender scented bar tucked in with their socks, or a cedar wood, patchouli sachet hanging in their coat closet? With minimal effort required and just a handful of ingredients needed, they make for the perfect afternoon project.

Here's what you need:

  • Dried flowers and/or herbs
  • 6 cups soy or beeswax pellets
  • 2 Tablespoons Essential oil
  • String or ribbon (if you want to hang them)
  • Silicone mold
  • Double broiler (place a small pot into a large saucepan filled with water)

Directions:

Pour the wax pellets into a pot and place it in the saucepan.

Fill the saucepan 1/2 full with water, and bring to a boil.

Stir the wax until melted.

Turn off the heat and add your essential oil/s.

Mix well.

Pour the wax into your silicone molds (Any shape or size will do). I found mine at the craft store in the baking aisle. There are all kinds of them online if you want something specific.

Let the wax cool until a light film begins to form on top.

Once the film has formed, add your flowers and/or herbs by gently placing on top of the wax bars (If you wait too long and the bars have hardened all the way through, you can pop the whole tray into the oven and melt them down. Be sure to place the mold on a cookie sheet for easy oven removal).

Cool completely and then pop them out of the mold.

Once finished, use a toothpick to poke a hole through the bars that you're wanting to hang.

Add strings or ribbon and you're done!
